About Rickety Soapbox
My name is Sarah Meyer. I am currently working on a thesis entitled, “The cumulative effects of the microfinance movement on sustainable community development in Sub-Saharan Africa”. I hope to enter a University of Washington Ph.D. program in the Fall of 2008 to study Statistics, Measurement, and Research Design as it applies to Sustainable Development, NGOs and Population Dynamical Patterns. Then maybe I’ll be qualified to write about something.
(Maybe.)
In the meantime, I am raising funds for a trip to Kenya to work with Seattle-based Village Volunteers on a Sustainable Development project for the Maasai village of Oronkai with the NGO Namunyak Maasai Welfare.
I am very interested in languages; I am adding Arabic (and later, French) to my studies which have previously included Spanish, Portuguese, Hebrew, (and less successfully) German, Russian, and Urdu.
Here’s what I look like when I’m reading with my kitten, Owl, at Volunteer Park in Seattle, Washington.
